Community Building Grants
 Concord Chorus, Concord, MA $5,000
  To help the community celebrate the Chorus’s 60th anniversary through a special concert in the spring of 2006.
 
 Jewish Family Service of MetroWest, Framingham, MA $20,000
  Continued support for Healing Partners, a program that encourages and trains faith communities to support the bereaved, caregivers and those living with illness.
   
 St. Elizabeth’s Episcopal Church, Sudbury, MA $10,000
  For start up support of Metropolitan Interfaith Congregations in Action, a coalition of the region’s diverse congregations to enable them to work together on such issues of shared concern as access to health care and affordable housing.
   
Organizational Capacity and Effectiveness Grants
 A Suitable Image, Framingham, MA $15,000
  Over three-years, to provide part-time administrative support to this start-up organization which counsels unemployed, disadvantaged women in appearance and other skills to help them return to the workforce.
 
 Adolescent Consultation Services, Inc., Cambridge, MA $30,000
  Over three years, to support the Education and Advocacy Program which offers a variety of follow-up services to low-income, court-involved youth and their families in the Framingham area.
 
 Alliance for Teen Safety, Inc., Concord, MA $7,000
  In support of a project to restructure the board and develop a short and long-term strategic plan for this coalition of youth organizations formed in 1999 to address issues related to risky teen behaviors.
 
 Boys & Girls Club of Assabet Valley, Maynard, MA $20,000
  To support a strategic plan process that addresses the growing membership and facility needs of this organization promoting positive youth development.
   
 Boys and Girls Clubs of Metrowest, Marlboro, MA $5,000
  To upgrade the Clubs’ web site to facilitate program, and event registration and secure online giving.
   
 Center for Arts in Natick, Natick, MA $25,000
  For technology enhancements at this community center for performance, music, dance, theater and visual arts.
   
 Danforth Museum of Art, Framingham, MA $30,000
  Over two years, to create a gallery space for children’s book illustration that links the first floor community museum with its second floor museum school.
   
 Domestic Violence Services of Central Middlesex, Inc., Concord, MA $4,000
  For strategic planning assistance as this five-year-old organization realigns its organizational structure and mission to reflect a recent expansion of services.
   
 Gaining Ground, Inc. Concord, MA $2,500
  To purchase a tractor to increase efficiency and effectiveness of cultivation at the organization’s three farm sites where fresh, organic produce is grown and donated to area meal and shelter programs.
   
  Higgins Armory, Worcester, MA $3,000
  To help fund A Knight at the Goodnow, a series of programs at Sudbury’s Goodnow Library that will illuminate the history of knighthood and build a regional audience for this museum dedicated to the collection, preservation, exhibition and interpretation of arms and armor.
   
 Minute Man Arc for Human Services, Inc., Concord, MA $5,000
  To enable this agency serving individuals with developmental disabilities and their families to retain fundraising counsel during a critical year of expansion and opportunity.
   
 Sounds of Concord, Concord, MA $3,500
  To help this 60-member barbershop chorus acquire sound and other basic performance equipment.
   
 Worcester Natural History Society/EcoTarium, Worcester, MA $60,000
  A two-year grant to enhance the visitor experience by refurbishing the indoor dining area at this center for environmental exploration.
   
Preservation of Community Character and Assets Grants 
 Framingham Historical Society & Museum, Framingham, MA $15,000
  To help defray the cost of the Fabric of Framingham exhibit which showcases the museum’s extensive costume and textiles collections while celebrating the Town’s history of diversity.
 
 Friends of the Assabet River National Wildlife Refuge, Marlborough, MA
  $20,000
  To develop a plan for the management of invasive plant species in the Assabet River National Wildlife Refuge and surrounding conservation land.
   
 Louisa May Alcott Memorial Association/Orchard House, Concord, MA $23,000
  For repairs and a historic structures report on the Concord School of Philosophy, a center for adult education founded by Transcendentalist philosopher Bronson Alcott.
   
 Musicians of the Old Post Road, Waltham, MA $5,000
  For two area concerts by this professional chamber ensemble which reunites the music, instruments and performance styles of earlier centuries at sites along the historic Boston Post Road.
   
 Sudbury Valley Trustees, Inc., Sudbury, MA $200,000
  Over four years, to provide leadership support for SVT’s first watershed-wide capital campaign through expansion of the stewardship endowment.
   
Youth Development and Opportunity Grants 
 Community Alliance for Youth, Acton, MA $4,000
  To help print the revised and updated Red Flags Resource Guide, designed to help communities identify and respond to the warning signs of risky behavior on the part of their teens.
   
 Greater Boston Youth Symphony Orchestras, Inc., Boston, MA $5,000
  To help support student scholarships for a summer tour to Latvia, Russia and Estonia.
   
 Metrowest YMCA, Framingham, MA $15,000
  In support of the YMCA’s outdoor, adventure-based counseling program for at risk youth.
   
 Sudanese Education Fund, Lincoln, MA $3,500
  In support of activities to strengthen local high school students’ involvement with the region’s Sudanese refuges.
   
 The Children’s Room, Arlington, MA $5,000
  To build the volunteer base in the Metrowest area for this organization which provides bereavement support to children by offering training sessions at the Framingham site.
 
  The Children’s Room, Arlington, MA $5,000
  A second year of support for opening the Framingham, MA site of this organization which offers ongoing bereavement support to children who have lost a loved one.
