Regional Program Eligibility
The Foundation makes grants to public and nonprofit organizations located in the communities surrounding Sudbury. These include: Acton, Concord, Framingham, Hudson, Lincoln, Marlboro, Maynard, Natick, Stow and Wayland. In addition, grant support is available for organizations based outside of these communities for activities that substantially benefit one or more of the towns listed.

Organizations may apply for funding once per calendar year.

Applicants who have received prior funding from the Sudbury Foundation must submit their final grant report before applying for additional support.

The Foundation generally does not fund Youth Development and Opportunity projects in public or private schools in Regional Program communities. Please contact the executive director if you feel you have a project that warrants an exception.

Funding Restrictions
The Foundation does not make loans or grants to individuals. While we do not rule out requests for any particular type of assistance, we generally do not provide ongoing operating support, offset deficits, contribute to general appeals, purchase benefit tickets or fund efforts understood to be the responsibility of government or support religious activities.

Other Criteria
The Trustees view collaboration among agencies with similar missions favorably and consider an applicant's ability to secure alternate project financing. We welcome the opportunity to join with other funders in underwriting grant endeavors. Multi-year grant requests are accepted.
