The Sudbury Foundation is pleased to announce the appointment of Miner A. Crary to its
Board of Trustees. Mr. Crary is a long-time Sudbury resident with extensive volunteer and
community service credentials and a variety of personal and professional attributes that will
enhance the work of the Foundation.
Board of Trustees Chair Richard H. Davison welcomed the new trustee to the Board, noting
that the Foundation’s Nominating Committee recommended him from an exceptionally
strong pool of candidates. “Our Board values the range of perspectives and experiences that
Miner will bring to our organization. We are delighted to have him working with us to
preserve and strengthen the Foundation’s operations and grantmaking programs."
Mr. Crary is a Principal at Birch Hill Investment Advisors LLC, Boston, MA, a firm he
founded in 2007. He is the former treasurer of the Sudbury Education Resource Fund
(SERF) and has been involved in various committee work for Sudbury Public Schools and
the Town of Sudbury. He served on the Board of Overseers of the BankAmerica Celebrity
Series of Boston and as a director and treasurer of the Boston Security Analysts Society. A
graduate of Amherst College, Crary holds a Masters in Education from Tufts University and
an MBA from Boston University.
Mr. Crary replaces longtime trustee John Taft, who retired at the end of 2007. “We knew
finding a replacement for John Taft would be a challenge,” said Marilyn Martino, executive
director. “In Miner, we’ve found an individual with a strong financial background and sense
of community who we believe will embrace the Foundation’s work with care and integrity.”
