Environmental Grants awarded in 2005
Fisheries Grants
 Cape Cod Commercial Hook Fishermen’s Assn., Chatham, MA $25,000
  In support of the Fisheries Reform Campaign designed to protect herring and cod in New England waters.
   
 Penobscot East Resource Center, Stonington, ME $60,000
  Over four years, to facilitate responsible community-based fishery management, collaborative marine science and sustainable economic development in Penobscot Bay and the eastern Gulf of Maine.
   
 UMASS-Boston/Policy Center for Marine Biosciences, Boston, MA $8,000
  To help defray the cost of a meeting on shell disease in American Lobsters.
   
Northern Forest Grants
 Hubbard Brook Research Foundation, Hanover, NH $30,000
  A two-year grant for continued support of the Science Links Project which enhances the flow of information between scientists and policy makers as a way of promoting scientifically-sound environmental policy in the Northern Forest region and beyond.
   
 Northern Forest Alliance, Stowe, VT $25,000
  Continued support for NFA’s work to protect forestland and promote economic and community health in the Northern Forest.
   
 Northern Forest Canoe Trail, Waitsfield, VT $30.000
  A two-year grant to reestablish a 740-mile, historic water trail linking 45 Northern Forest communities in four states.
   
 Open Space Institute, New York, NY $25,000
  In support of a study to assess the economic costs and benefits of Plum Creek’s development plan for the Moosehead Lake region of Maine.
